Members of the Inquests and Regulatory team advise on dealing with the consequences of health and safety breaches, insurance regulations and SRA compliance. Our client base is varied, including individual solicitors, solicitors’ firms, legal expense insurers, local government, and companies.
Inquests
We advise companies, as well as individuals who have been involved in an accident leading to the calling of an Inquest, and provide them with litigation support and advice up to and including representation at the Inquest. Where civil claims arise out of the Inquest we provide integrated advice and representation and provide defence services.
Regulatory Advice for Law Practices
We offer a range of advice including health checks for compliance of a practice with regulations, Lexcel and other accreditations that enhance your practice’s reputation and profile. We also advise on protecting individual solicitors' and law practices’ interests during investigations by the Solicitors Regulation Authority or Legal Complaints Service and will cover the changed regulatory and complaints systems under the Legal Services Act 2007 when it is brought into force.
In the event a solicitors' practice faces any form of regulatory or disciplinary investigation, our legal team will advise and manage the process. There is an option of additional cover to ensure solicitors receive expert representation before the Solicitors' Disciplinary Tribunal and the Master of the Rolls.
Health and Safety for Companies
If there has been a work related death we will provide representation at the Inquest, and advise on its implications for any subsequent HSE prosecution as part of an integrated service. Likewise if there is a personal injury civil claim arising out of the investigations, we provide defence representation.
