Moira is a solicitor in the Travel and Tourism team. She acts for clients who have been injured or contracted illness abroad.
The majority of her workload involves claims that are being pursued in a foreign jurisdiction. She has access to the company's network of foreign lawyers when dealing with claims to ensure that accurate and up to date advice is available to her clients.
Moira also deals with cases where an accident happened abroad, but the legal proceedings are brought in the UK courts. These claims are typically defending or pursuing tour operators, airlines or perhaps skiiers following a collision.
Moira retrained in law after an earlier freelance career working with languages. She has fluent Russian, German and French and a reading knowledge of Spanish. She worked freelance as a translator, proof-reader and editor for various translation companies, was a part-time teacher and also an interpreter for the Immigration Service and the Metropolitan Police. It was this last experience that led to her decision to change career and train as a solicitor.
